Non-Combustible Construction
Non-Combustible Shelter
Application
VFP's lightweight non-combustible shelters are ideal for rooftop applications. These non-combustible shelters are capable of being lifted fully loaded with equipment, which eliminates the difficult task of getting communications equipment to the roof.
Floor Construction
The floor is constructed of 3 inches of concrete reinforced by a steel foundation skid structure. The steel skid design includes a recessed step joint to form a waterproof seal with the wall panels. The skid structure also includes integral lifting points for easy lifting access.
Cement board floor construction is also available if the concrete construction causes the shelter weight to exceed weight limits.
Roof and Wall Construction
Non-combustible shelter heading for rooftop installation
The shelter walls are constructed of "galvaneal" coated structural metal panels. Assembly of the C-shaped metal panels provides the equivalent of 2" metal studs for interior sheathing mounting
Interior Finish
Floors are covered with 1/8 inch industrial grade vinyl tile with coordinated base and corner moldings. Fire retardant white interior paneling enhances illumination. Seams are trimmed with vinyl batten strips.
Exterior Finish
The standard exterior finish is a heavy duty, weather resistant tan paint. Combined with "galvaneal" coated metal, this exterior finish coat provides excellent weather and corrosion protection. The standard exterior finish is available in various colors. Optional exterior finishes are also available. [more]
